Finnish parents want assessment that supports and motivates learning
In Finland, parents often regard assessment carried out in schools primarily as a tool for supporting pupils’ learning and growth. However, many parents would also like to see more of numerical assessment, a new study from the University of Eastern Finland shows. The researchers analysed the beliefs and conceptions of assessment among Finnish parents of pupils in grades six and nine of Finnish basic education.
