    Six science projects to space from Sweden – launched onboard SubOrbital Express-4

    Today, one of the most important and long-awaited rocket launches of the year took place from SSC's space center Esrange, above the Polar Circle in the North of Sweden. Six science projects aboard the SubOrbital Express-4 were carried out in microgravity – experiments ranging from medicine to green energy transition and the origin of life.     600th rocket launched from Esrange

    Today, at 08.38 UTC, the Swedish space industry reached an impressive milestone as the 600[th] suborbital rocket, MAPHEUS-15, was launched from SSC spaceport Esrange Space Center in Kiruna. The science rocket reached an altitude of 309 km carrying a payload containing 21 different experiments. The payload featured a wide range of scientific disciplines which were conducted during 7 minutes of microgravity, for example, advanced material science and biological research on human cells.     Larger means higher – and today at 4.39 pm local time, the largest stratospheric balloon ever to be launched from Esrange Space Center rose from the ground in northern Sweden.
