Successful first drive of the world's first hydrogen regional train with X-STORE cylinders
PRESS RELEASE Alstom, a leading provider of rail technology, has been developing the world's first hydrogen powered regional train, Coradia iLint, which is equipped with xperion's lightweight X-STORE® Type 4 high-pressure cylinders. The first prototype train has successfully been assembled and fueled with hydrogen. The train will initially run on Alstom's own test tracks within Germany. In the next step, the tests will be extended to external test tracks. "This new development enables regional trains to run on rail tracks without overhead lines, and provides a zero-emission and quiet
