Defence and security company Saab intends to utilize its option to divest its shares in Aker Holding AS, which were acquired in 2007. The divestment will be carried out on June 30th 2011 the latest.On June 22, 2007, Saab announced that the company had decided to acquire shares (7.5 per cent) in the newly created holding company Aker Holding AS. Investor has decided to exercise its option to sell its holding in Aker Holding AS. The option agreement was entered into in 2007 when Investor together with Saab and the Norwegian government invested in the Norwegian industrial group Aker Kvaerner ASA through the then newly formed holding company Aker Holding AS. Investor’s investment in 2007 amounted to NOK 402 m., of which NOK 77 m. in equity. The remaining part was financed with loans. The exercise of the option generates proceeds of NOK 117 m. to Investor, net of external loans.
