Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has received a contract from DHA Cogen Ltd. in Pakistan for a desalination facility including two multiple effect desalination units, with a total capacity of about 14 million litres per day. Ericsson's managed services agreement with Warid Telecommunications Pvt. Ericsson has signed a USD 250 million managed capacity expansion contract with Indian operator Bharti to provide managed services and expand its GSM/GPRS network into rural India.Ericsson's technology and managed services solutions will enable Bharti to expand into around 3000 towns and villages in 15 regions. The acceptance period for JM's offer for redemption of shares expired on June 8, 2005. The offer involved redemption of a maximum of every 8th share held in JM at a price of SEK 285 per share. Volvo invests in fuel cell technology to solve environmental problems linked to idling engines

If trucks were equipped with a power unit driven by fuel cells, the carbon dioxide emissions from a single truck could be reduced by an estimated 20 to 30 tons per year. As a result, trucks would not have to run at idle to have an electrical supply when they are parked. In an effort to solve this problem, Volvo is now starting a joint-venture company for the development of power units based on fuel cell technology.
