Medical Systems strengthens its marketing organisation by acquiring the Canadian company Dynamed Inc.

Getinge has acquired 70% of the shares in Dynamed Inc. Dynamed, based in Toronto, is currently Medical Systems' distributor in Canada for ventilators and has annual sales of around SEK 85 million and 55 staff. By acquiring Dynamed Inc. Getinge is continuing its strategy of developing its own sales channels on important markets. In connection with the acquisition, Medical Systems’ existing cardio-pulmonary company in Canada, Jostra Inc., will be integrated in the newly acquired company. The person selling Dynamed is its founder Peter Bennett, who will stay on as President with a 30% holding.

Axfood acquires Vivo Mariehallen and Vivo Plus

Axfood has acquired Vivo Mariehallen and Vivo Plus, with combined net sales of SEK 310 million. The stores will be taken over early next year and will be converted to Hemköp.Vivo Mariehallen, which is the Vivo Group’s second-largest store, is located on Hornsgatan in Stockholm’s Södermalm district, and Vivo Plus is located in Stäket, Järfälla. After the takeover Hemköp will have 11 stores in Stockholm. “This is yet another deal that is entirely in line with Axfood’s strategy of strengthening its position in the Stockholm market,” says Anders Nyberg, head of business development at Axfood AB.
