Hemsö and ARE develop municipal school in Cologne

Hemsö and ARE have entered into a joint venture to develop a new municipal school in central Cologne. The school will have a lettable area of 23,000 square meters, accommodating 1,000 students aged 11 to 18. A 25-year lease agreement has been signed with the City of Cologne. The investment amounts to EUR 160 million.Hemsö has entered a joint venture with Austrian Real Estate (ARE), a wholly owned subsidiary of the real estate company Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft (BIG), which is fully owned by the Austrian state. Hemsö Fastighets AB (“Hemsö”) announces the final results of its invitation to holders of its outstanding EUR 300m notes due 2029 with ISIN XS1632767718 which was announced on 7 June 2024. Hemsö has been awarded a municipal school project outside Berlin

The City of Ragnsdorf, just outside Berlin, has chosen Hemsö in a public procurement to develop a new secondary school of 8,000 square meters. A 20-year lease has been signed with the municipality. Hemsö is developing a new 4,300 square meter healthcare center for substance abuse care in Tallbacken in Turku. Hemsö has been awarded a school project by the City of Helsinki

The City of Helsinki has chosen Hemsö in a public procurement for the acquisition and re-development of Vallila Primary School, which will accommodate 350 pupils from grades 1 to 6. The City will sell the existing school building to Hemsö. During the spring, Hemsö and the City will sign a 20-year lease agreement regarding the school’s 3,500 square meters.The historic school building on Tavastvägen in Helsinki was completed in 1902. Both the school building and the wing that was added in 1935 need refurbishment. During the spring, the Helsinki City Council will decide on selling the property.

Fitch’s updated criteria may lead to rating upgrade for Hemsö

Fitch Ratings has updated its rating criteria and has chosen to place Hemsö Under Criteria Observation for a possible upgrade.
