During the second quarter, our operating profit/loss continued to improve to MSEK -0.1 (-0.4) despite the fact that sales decreased by -6 percent to MSEK 38.7 (41.0). For the second year in a row, we show a positive operating profit for the first quarter. This despite weak construction and consumer markets that resulted in a negative sales development of -12% to MSEK 38.2 (43.5). Thanks to a positive change in product mix and good sales of our own consumer brands, the Group’s gross margin strengthened to 29 (26) %. This, in combination with sound cost control, resulted in a slightly improved operating profit of MSEK 0.2 (0.1).

During the last quarter of the year, sales remained strong with growth across all business units. Overall, sales grew by 29 percent to MSEK 27.9 (21.6). Our operating profit/loss improved to MSEK -6.1 (-19.7) thanks to the increasing sales and lower costs. Cash flow from operating activities strengthened significantly to MSEK 6.7 (0.1).

Our strategic transformation to become a chemical company has continued according to plan during the second quarter. Binder sales in Nonwoven & fiber technologies continued to grow sharply, and our consumer products in Green coatings & maintenance products also showed good growth. On the other hand, sales of OrganoWood timber in Functional wood dropped heavily because of the weak construction activity. All in all, the group’s sales grew by 6 percent to MSEK 41.0 (38.5).

This research showed that OrganoTex's products are not only environmentally friendly and safe for humans and animals, but also cost-effective. This is not only good news for consumers, but also for the outdoors.

To now be able to offer our customers a TÜV home compostable certificate is a great milestone for us. The home compostable certificate is highly attractive for customers marketing nonwoven consumer applications. With this certificate we can now speed-up our commercialization further. It also proves that our binder degrades in normal compost conditions and does not require optimized industrial compost conditions. It makes it easier for the consumer, and is an important step for a circular future

Within the product area biobinders for nonwoven, a globally leading producer of textile interlinings launched an eco-collection in September in which our biobased binder is a key component which replaces the currently used oil based plastic binders. Textile interlinings are used as linings and stiffening materials in all jackets, suits, shirts, etc and are made of nonwovens, woven or knitted textiles which are mechanically modified with binders. Our customer predict to receive their first bigger orders during 2019.

Water repellency plays an important role for outdoor garments. OrganoTex Textile Waterproofing is an ecological friendly, PFOC-free and fully biodegradable way of keeping your clothing highly water repellent.

Sales growth has been good during the year as well as during the fourth quarter that showed a total sales growth of 87.2 % and an organic sales growth (excluding the acquisition) of 34 %. The gross margin increased to 31.7 (27.7) % during Q4 as a result of our change in product mix and to 36.2 (32.1) % for the full year.

Our positive trend contnued during the third quarter with a total sales growth of 88 % and an organic sales growth of 47 %

Sales has increased from SEK 6.5 million to SEK 18.0 million which excluding our previous acquisition gave an organic sales growth of 52 %. March became the first month ever for the group with a positive EBITDA.
