Håkan Larsson to leave Södra
Håkan Larsson, Director of Strategy, has decided to start his own consulting business and will therefore be leaving Södra on 1 March. Håkan Larsson’s involvement in Södra’s work with strategic issues will continue, but in his new role as a consultant.“I have been employed in the Södra Group for 24 years and have now decided to start my own business, with a focus on leadership and strategy-related issues,” said Håkan Larsson.

Digitisation of the forest industry is on the rise. Usage of Södra’s digital forestry application, the forest owner’s app, has risen 30 percent in 2016. Södra’s members are delivering increasingly higher volumes of wood to the company’s industries. A focus on improved forest management has led to a steady increase in forest growth. This, in turn, has enabled more harvesting. In southern Sweden, growth is so strong that forest stocks are rising as harvesting operations increase.“Our members are managing their forests so well that forests are now growing better than ever. And, although we continue to harvest more forest, there is still more forest remaining. This is a very positive trend,” says Håkan Larsson, President of Södra Skog.
