Publication shows significant benefits of using intraoperative Glycosorb[®] treatment for blood group incompatible pediatric heart transplants
Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH) in London, UK, has been using Glycosorb[®] ABO in conjunction with pediatric blood group incompatible heart transplants since 2015. GOSH has now in a retrospective study compared blood group incompatible transplants performed with Glycosorb[®] ABO and plasma exchange.Data were collected for all blood group incompatible heart transplants performed between January 1, 2000, and June 1, 2020, a total of 37 transplants. Of these, plasma exchange (PE) was used for 27 transplants and 10 were performed with intraoperative Glycosorb[®] treatment.
