The winner of the Helsinki Design Award is Päivi Raivio
A joint award by the City of Helsinki and Helsinki Design Week recognizes a designer or a design team for making Helsinki a better place to live in. The winner of the 2022 Helsinki Design Award is designer Päivi Raivio.[Designer Pivi Raivio]
During her career, Päivi Raivio has dedicated her work to creating better public spaces. Together with citizens and various communities, Raivio has made the city squares more vibrant and the daycare yards more green as well as conducted versatile urban space experiments, not only in Helsinki but in other Finnish cities and internationally as well.
The energy company Gasum opens a unique gas filling station in the Kivistö district of Vantaa. The Kivistö station offers liquefied and compressed gas for the needs of heavy- and light-duty transport vehicles and passenger cars as well as a unique art experience for gas drivers. The station’s visual image has been created in cooperation with LAB University of Applied Sciences and visual artist Katja Tsykarev.
