Swebus releases routes to three of this summer’s major festivals

Today Swebus is releasing this year’s routes to Peace & Love, Roskilde and Emmaboda. Just over a year ago express bus company Swebus launched new direct 35-minute routes between Arlanda airport and Cityterminalen in Stockholm city centre. From today, express bus company Swebus is expanding its European timetable with the addition of 14 new departures a week between Malmö, Copenhagen, Berlin and Hamburg.The increase will see eight more buses a week running in each direction between Malmö, Copenhagen and Berlin. Swebus adds 14 new departures to Germany

From 1 April express bus company Swebus will be expanding its European timetable in partnership with the coach company Eurolines. A total of 14 new departures are being introduced between Sweden, Denmark and Germany.The increase will see eight new departures a week in each direction between Malmö, Copenhagen and Berlin. The Copenhagen to Hamburg route is also being expanded, with three new departures a week in each direction. “This will mean daily connections from Oslo, Gothenburg, Jönköping, Östergötland and Stockholm to Hamburg and Berlin,” says Swebus press officer Ingvar Ryggesjö.

Swebus is doing its bit for the Handball World Championships, set to start today, and is running a total of 88 departures serving Sweden’s group matches in Gothenburg. Swebus stops selling tickets on board its Express Buses

As of 1 January 2011, it will no longer be possible to purchase tickets on board Swebus long-distance buses. Previously it had been possible to buy tickets using a charge card on board.The reason for this move by Swedbus is that the ECB (European Central Bank) has introduced new standards for payment terminals that take effect as of 1 January 2011. The existing payment terminals on board the Express Buses do not comply with these new regulations and are thus being withdrawn from service. At present, only half of one per cent of Swebus ticket sales are made by charge card on board the buses.

Swebus no longer accepting cash onboard

As of the first of September, it will no longer be possible to pay by cash onboard Swebus buses. For the first time ever, the long-distance bus company Swebus is putting on a special bus service to and from the Emmaboda Festival. The buses go right to the festival venue with departures from Stockholm via Norrköping, Linköping and Jönköping.This year’s Emmaboda Festival is held between 29 and 31 July.
